Weekly Commentary
The NASDAQ was by far the strongest market this week with a 1.5% gain and another new high despite the week beginning with two down days. Momentum  picked up on Thursday following a strong ADP jobs report which carried through into Friday although that day's Employment Situation Report disappointed and the previous two months reports were downgraded too.

With so many stocks hitting new highs the number of breakout candidates, and consequently the number of breakouts remained low with just 8 again this week. We need an extended period of market consolidation before the number of breakout candidates will rise again.

For this reason I'm introducing a new report next week : NASDAQ Stocks making new 52 week highs.
