 Weekly Commentary  

Since the January breakout (see 5 year chart below), the NASDAQ Composite had risen 6.8% to Wednesday's intraday high and 17.7% for the year to date. Understandably, it is time for the index to consolidate these gains and the three month chart shows that this process may now have begun. With the Chinese economy slowing and oil prices rising as a result of the risk premium imposed by continuing talk of an Israeli strike on Iran
the economic fundamentals are weakening but the continuing supply of cheap money from the Fed is likely to continue to keep prices moving higher once this period of consolidation is over.
