Weekly Commentary
Buy At Open Strategy Launched

The NASDAQ Composite flirted with the 200 day moving average for the first 3 trading days of this shortened week before finally breaking through on slightly above average volume on Friday. Positive news from the trade talks with China gave the impetus for the accumulation day. The index gained 0.7% for the week and bested the other 2 major indexes.

NASDAQ Chart
Low volumes limited the number of breakouts this week to just 7.

A software bug that I unknowingly introduced last weekend threw off our alerts for the week. The daily watchlists were not updated on Tuesday through Thursday with the result that alerts sent on those days were based off last Friday's watchlists and therefore weren't relevant to each day's trading. This was corrected Thursday evening and the watchlists published on Friday for next Monday's trading are correct.
