Weekly Commentary
Long Term Rates Push NASDAQ Below 200 day Moving Average; Subscription Increase May 1

The minutes of the March FOMC meeting warned that one or more 50 basis point increases in the fed funds rate could be appropriate at future meetings. High priced tech stocks reacted negatively taking the NASDAQ down to a 3.9% loss for the week. The index closed below its 200 day moving average on Friday as did the S&P 500.

First quarter reporting starts this week and expectations are that future guidance (more important than Q1 earnings) will trend down. If so, then the indexes will trend down also.

Subscription Increase May 1

Our subscription rates have held steady for 5 years although our hosting and data costs have risen. Regrettably, it's necessary to raise our rates by 5% and this will go into effect on May 1, 2022. You can upgrade now to longer subscription periods to beat the increase.

The new rates will be:

Months 1 3 6 12
Silver $21 $57 $107 $200
Gold $31 $91 $161 $302
Platinum $42 $113 $214 $403

Chart of the Week
Baxter International (BAX)

Baxter International Inc., through its subsidiaries, develops and provides a portfolio of healthcare products worldwide. BAX recently obtained FDA approval for a new blood purification system which is expected to gain a solid foothold in global renal care. On Friday BAX broke above its Average True Range on above average volume, this was the 4th successive day of upward movement. BAX is 10% below its February high so would appear to have some upside potential.

This does not mean that on any day, 80% of the stocks selected will breakout, but it is the expectation over an extended period of time.
