Site Alerts Summary
Introduction

During market hours, we automatically issue an alert if a stock contained on one of our watchlists trades at or above its Breakout Price (Pivot) or Resistance on volume projected to be >= 150% of average daily volume. New alerts are displayed real time as they are issued. The alerts are listed according to the watchlist they were issued from.

Column Description
Symbol
Symbol for each stock for which an alert was issued on the date viewed.
BoP
The pivot point in the case of an alert from CwHWatch, or the resistance level plus $0.01 in the case of an alert from FBWatch. This value in conjunction with the B/O volume is used to trigger an intraday alert if the stock attempts a breakout.
B/O Volume
The minimum required closing volume to indicate a sustained breakout above the pivot (B/O Price), computed as 150% of the Average Daily Volume. This volume is used in conjunction with the B/O Price to trigger an intraday alert if the stock attempts a breakout.
Handle Days (CwHWatch)
The number of trading days between the beginning of the handle (pivot point or B/O Price) and the current date.
Base Length (FBWatch)
The length of the flat base.
MTC
Meets Target Criteria. Indicates that the stock meets the criteria we identified as giving the greatest likelihood of achieving a gain of at least 25% after breakout. This does not mean other stocks cannot gain at least 25% and in fact many will. See Factors Affecting Performance After Breakout
Range (FBWatch)
The price range between the support and resistance levels of the flat base.
CESM
CANTATA Evaluator Score. A proprietary measure of the stock’s attractiveness as a CANTATA-quality candidate derived by combining the stock’s technical (CET) and fundamental (CEF) scores. For a review of the methodology used for determining overall CE scores, follow this link.
Alert Time
The time at which the alert is issued.
Alert Price
The stock's trading price at the time the alert is issued.
Projected Volume at Alert Time
Projected Volume is shown as a multiple of average daily volume (ADV). Projected Volume is computed as the trading volume at the time the stock trades at the B/O Price divided by the hours traded. This projected volume per hour is then multiplied by 6.5 hours to derive the projected closing volume.
Close Price
The closing price as of market close on the date the alert is issued.
Close Volume
The total volume as of market close on the date the alert is issued.
Breakout Status at Market Close

The breakout status is updated after market close.

Sustained Breakout: Both Closing Price >= B/O Price and Closing Volume >= B/O volume. This shows evidence of a strong breakout based on daily trade.

Failed on Price: Closing Volume >= B/O Volume, but Closing Price < B/O Price

Failed on Volume: Closing Price >= B/O Price, but Closing Volume < B/O Volume

Failed on Price and Volume: Both Closing Price < B/O Price and Closing Volume < B/O volume.
